KG Commerical Flock

Meat production is the primary emphasis of our commerical flock. 

We do have ewe & ram lambs available annually if you're looking to start a commercial flock of your own or if you are looking for replacement ewes.

We also have Club lambs available for 4-H Members.  Club lambs are 'feeder' lambs that 4-H Members purchase to develop as market lambs to exhibit at local fairs and shows.  Market lamb projects are usually 'terminal' meaning they start with the purchase of a lamb and end with the sale of the lamb (usually for meat).  Our Texel rams produce heavy muscled lambs making them very competitive in the show ring.

Our breeding ewes have excellent traits which make them ideal for crossbreeding in a commercial flock.  They are highly prolific and fertile.  And, they are excellent milk producers.  The lambs produced are vigorous, hardy and fast growing.  The carcasses demonstrate superior muscling of the loin and leg.

Interesting Note:

Our lamb, along with lamb of Stan & Lori Campbell (Southwest Meats / Blue Moon Texels) was enjoyed by all attending the All Canada Classic 2008 Banquet held in Ilderton, Ontario.  Our lambs were also on display and used in a Carcass Evaluation & Demonstation conducted at the 2008 All Canada Classic by Teo & Gary VanSteeg.  Two carcasses were cut, evaluated and discussed.  The presentation is available on DVD.
